Canadian Billionaire: Bitcoin Much Easier To Confiscate Than Gold
Canadian billionaire Frank Giustra has raised concerns about Bitcoin's vulnerability to confiscation, arguing it is more susceptible than gold due to its transparent digital nature. Unlike gold, which can be stored discreetly and moved without detection, Bitcoin ownership is traceable through public ledgers, making it easier for authorities to identify and seize assets with legal tools such as subpoenas or court orders.
Giustra pointed out that the U.S. national Bitcoin reserve consists entirely of confiscated coins, underscoring how ownership can be transferred without physical intervention. While he acknowledges that Bitcoin could increase in value, he criticizes its promotion, claiming it is driven largely by greed and fear of missing out rather than intrinsic stability.
