European Active Etf Trading Doubles In 2025: Xyt
Active ETFs in Europe experienced significant growth in 2025, with average daily trading volume nearly doubling from the previous year and assets under management rising 38 percent to €23 billion, according to research by xyt. This surge was driven by increased investor demand for thematic and alpha-generating products, along with a sharp rise in the number of active ETF issuers and offerings.
Despite the momentum in active funds, passive ETFs continue to dominate the market, holding €2.8 trillion in assets compared to €85 billion for active funds and attracting €217 billion in inflows over the year. The broader expansion of both passive and active ETF segments reflects growing investor interest and supports market liquidity and diversity, xyt reported.
