Overview
VanEck is a New York City-based asset manager founded in 1955. ETFs account for over 75% of VanEck's assets under management.
At the beginning of 2018, VanEck bought the Dutch ETF provider Think ETF and integrated it as a subsidiary. Many innovative indices for the VanEck ETFs are produced by a subsidiary based in Frankfurt am Main.
VanEck's core businesses are various products in the gold sector. In addition, VanEck offers ETFs on specialized indices that no other provider has in its portfolio. In addition to preferred stock indices and stocks that have the largest discount to their intrinsic value, these include high-yield bond indices with a focus on former top companies or emerging markets. With the acquisition of Think ETF, the offering in Europe has also been expanded.
